Getting stains around the front neckline of your t-shirt is downright embarrassing. Here are some ways to remove yellow stains from undershirt collars.
My husband’s t-shirts get yellow around the front of the neck.
I am not sure what it is but he suspects it to be glue.
How do I get rid of these yellow neck stains?
I don’t think this is ring around the collar because it is not around the back of the neck.
Thanks for your help.
How to Remove Yellow Stains From T-Shirt Collars
Heya Andrea,
Good to hear from you and thanks for your question!
It’s hard to know what the yellow stains are around the front of your husbands shirt neckline, because there are so many possible variables like:
- His chemistry
- Any products he uses on his skin that may or may not come into contact with his neckline
- Cleaning products used on the shirts
- The shirt’s fabric content
- Chemicals used in the shirts
- Other reasons
Yellow Stain Remover Cleaning Options
You could try creating this popular at-home mixture:
Mixture: Blend together 1 tbsp dish washing liquid, 2 tbsp hydrogen peroxide, and 2 tsp baking soda.
How to apply: Apply it to the collar line, and use a toothbrush to scrub the stain.
Let stand: Leave for 30 minutes to an hour, then rinse out by hand or in a washer.
Of course, you could always try Oxi-Clean (Amazon), but I suspect you’ve already tried all the typical solutions.
There used to be a product called refreshshirt that was designed to clean all types of yellow stains, including pit stains, but the guy selling the product just disappeared.
A while back, a company offering a product called “My Fresh Shirt” came onto the scene. I wrote an article about the product in my article about how to remove ring around the collar. But, they’re gone now.
I did write an article about how to prevent ring around the collar, so you may want to read that and see if there are some ideas that help you out.

Outside of that, my top recommendation would be to check out this article about removing deodorant stains.
That article has a few really interesting cleaning product suggestions that I think might work in removing the yellow stains on your husband’s shirt neckline.
Specifically, I’m thinking maybe the DIY solution or Krud Kutter.
