Fruit of the Loom has recently announced their new Walmart Sure Fit Collection and Target Select innerwear lines:
Items from the Fruit of the Loom Sure Fit Collection are designed with a super soft cotton blend that lasts longer and shrinks less than 100% cotton, for a “just like new” look and fit, wash after wash. This undershirt and underwear line will launch in May 2014 at Wal-Mart and in June 2014 at Walmart.com.
Fruit of the Loom Select, an exclusive line for Target, is masterfully constructed using soft, premium cotton to provide the ultimate in comfort and fit. Available in underwear tops and bottoms, this line will launch at Target around early July and Target.com in mid July.
Fruit of the Loom Premium Undershirt/Underwear Line Details
Looking for some specifics, here’s a little Q & A I had with Fruit of the Loom about the new lines:
Q. What’s the exact blend on the Sure Fit Collection? Is it the same across all products?
A. All items in the Fruit of the Loom Sure Fit Collection are made from a 60% cotton / 40% polyester blend for products that last longer and shrink less than 100% cotton, for a “just like new” look and fit, wash after wash.
Q. Do you have any specifics to how the cotton in the FOTL Select is different from FOTL non-select options that FOTL currently sells?
A. Fruit of the Loom Select is made from Ringspun cotton for the ultimate in comfort and fit. Ringspun cotton is made by continuously twisting and thinning yarn to make a very fine rope of cotton fibers. The twisting make the short hairs of the cotton stand out, resulting in a stronger yarn with a softer hand) – this means the premium line items offer a special softness and durability. Fruit of the Loom Core styles are made from Open End cotton, which does not go through the additional twisting and thinning that Ringspun cotton goes through.
Q. Is the FOTL Select product line similar (or the same) to the FOTL program at Old Navy?
A. The products in the Fruit of the Loom Select line are similar to the Fruit of the Loom Old Navy line products in that they are both made from premium Ringspun cotton. They do, however, have different color stories. Fruit of the Loom for Old Navy has a more classic color story while Fruit of the Loom Select has colors that reflect the latest trends in fashion.

How do these compare to the Fruit of the Loom Premiums at JCPenney that they sell for $26.00 for a pack of four?
heya jr, not sure how the fruit of the loom premium undershirts compare to the premiums at jcpenney, but based on the price point, i’d say the fruit of the loom select would be similar to fruit of the loom premiums at jcpenney.
though, with the difference in price, i would kinda expect that there is some minor differences between them. i’ll reach out to my fotl contacts and see if i can find out what that difference may or may not be. stay tuned.
