Well, this wasn’t really a question from a reader, but I ran across this question on Yahoo! Answers and thought I’d put in my two cents.
Adidas Techfit vs. Nike Pro (undershirt). Which is better?
Which wicks sweat better? Which one keeps you more dry?
Which looks better? Overall which is better?
Here’s my two-cents…
Although I don’t spend too much time researching performance undershirts like these, I can tell you a little about about these shirts after reviewing their websites.
First off, the Techfit and Nike Pro serve different purposes. The Techfit is a compression tee and the Nike Pro is not.
Based on most of the marketing information, compression tops are designed to improve your core strength by applying optimal pressure to areas of your body to increase blood flow, thereby improving the delivery of oxygen to your muscles, reducing muscle vibration, and burning off carbon dioxide and lactic acid in the process.
In simple terms, compression tees are said to help you train more effectively. The Nike Pro undershirts I looked at aren’t compression tees, although if Nike does offer compression tees, they’d likely offer the same general benefits.
Keeping you more dry is directly related to the material used in the tee.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
1. Adidas Techfit Seamless: 78% polyester, 13% nylon, 9% elastane, ClimaCool
2. Adidas Techfit Powerweb: 75% nylon, 25% elastane, ClimaCool
3. Nike Pro: Dri-FIT 71% polyester, 16% nylon, 13% spandex
Based on my experience with wearing undershirts made out of various materials, I’ve found that the tees made out of a greater percentage of elastane/spandex are usually a little warm.
As far as keeping you dry and wicking away sweat, I would say the Techfit Seamless and the Nike Pro would likely perform better in that area based on their material content. If you’re looking for a performance top, the Techfit Powerweb is probably a better choice.
As far a looking better, it really depends on what your going for. If you’re looking to wear a performance looking top for working out, I’d recommend the Techfit. If you’re looking for a tee that look more like a normal tee or undershirt, I think the Nike Pro looks better.
Overall, the two tees above serve very different purposes. Which one you choose is solely dependent on what you’re trying to solve for.
If you’re looking for something that looks more like an undershirt, but performs more like an athletic top, you may want to try looking at the Core Precision Undershirt from Equmen, due out early this month.
Or you may want to try out other compression undershirts.
hey there man! well i read this review but i still have one question haha. i’m a football player and i would like to know wich is better between Nike Pro Core (17.99 pounds) and Adidas TechFit PowerWeb (49.99 pounds). please!! the price difference is very big so i’m think there must be a GOOD reason =/ right??
