This “Who Will Be The Next Sarah Blakely” article caught my attention.
Did you know that there’s a $29 billion underwear market? Wow, that’s pretty big.
[I was surprised to learn that Knock Out also has Supima Cotton Odor-Control Undershirts and Underwear for Men too. Learn More here.]
The article also mentions one patent-pending Men’s Underwear Product, from Underwear for Men (UFM), that has what I call “package control”
Underwear for Men (UFM) is awaiting a patent for an invention that appears to incorporate all the comfort benefits of a hoodie into boxer-briefs. A tube string stitched in the seam line of the front of the underwear lets the wearer “adjust the amount of isolation, comfort, and support they receive at any given moment.”
There’s one other Underwear product that I thought was pretty interesting called Helux Gear, which offers a unique approach to it’s ergonomic front package design. (Access, plus comfort)
I’m a realist and like to separate the Marketing hype from what I actually experience with a product. Example, I know some suggest that taking vitamins is a good idea, but I’ve NEVER felt different taking them — so I no longer do. Contrast that with working out and eating right, where I ACTUALLY lose weight and feel better because I’m doing it.
So the question is, where is or what will be the next big Undershirt Innovation?
Let’s be real here too, shall we?? There are many nice new undershirt products, that offer unique characteristics and some great wearing experiences. But are they truly innovative? I’m not so sure.
No doubt, I’ll keep enjoying the great new products that are coming out, but I’ll be really looking forward to the next really awesome Undershirt Innovation
Who knows, maybe I’ll come up with something (:
