Summer is better beardless. To jumpstart the season, Schick® Quattro® is launching an outrageous film on YouTube, aiming to inspire a movement for men to unite together and reclaim their chins with a clean shave.
With beards now at every turn, #UnitedWeShave is a film that celebrates shaving, urging guys to buck beards and liberate their jawlines.
Schick Quattro Video: United We Shave
Top 5 Reasons To Shave, by Alex Fine
In addition to the video, we have partnered with illustrator Alex Fine to remind men of the dangers of celebrating summer with a full beard. We’re calling the image series “Top 5 Reasons Men Should be United in Shaving This Summer.”
Clean Shaven vs Beard?
It’s pretty clear that in recent years, having a full beard has grown in popularity and has become the new “in” thing once again.
As a child of the very late 60’s and early 70’s I vividly remember how popular facial hair was back then. Pretty much every guy had either long hair, a mustache, beard, or all of the above. That trend died down in the 80’s and recently popped back up over the last several years.
It’s not clear if the launch of Movember back in 2004 was the current-day catalyst to the resurgence of facial grooming, beard oils and growing full beards/moustaches, but one thing’s for sure — guys are definitely embracing the individuality and independence that goes along with having a full-facial bush.
Heck, even the folks over at Betabrand recently discovered that both men and women were 39% more likely to click an ad that had an image of a man with any amount of facial hair compared to an image that showed none.
Me personally, well I sport a pretty tightly groomed goatee. But that’s probably because it would be near impossible for me to grow a full one that would look good or wouldn’t feel like a big ass brillo pad. Don’t think the Mrs. would like that either.
What Say You?
What’s your preference? No facial hair, some, or full-on face bush?
